Interior Paint Colors & Light Fixtures

Back in the Spring, shortly after the sheetrock was hung all throughout the interior, hubby got in there and primed away.  It's a whole lot of work with very little visible result - but definitely an important step.  The all-white walls are prettier to look at than the sheetrock mud, though!

Right around this time, we got the professional painter - who was working on the exterior - to spray the ceilings in the standard ceiling white...money well spent!

Then it was on to the color!  After dealing for months with decisions to make about what's behind the walls, it's thrilling to finally pick out something pretty that we'll get to see.  But it is stressful to commit...especially since there are so many beautiful colors to pick from!  I knew that I wanted to continue the exterior's blue & grey theme indoor, but we couldn't just copy the colors.  For one, we didn't want to be redundant (who has the inside of their home painted the same as the outside anyway?).  And secondly, the colors would be too bold indoors without all that daylight, especially the charcoal color - though I love it more than any other color.

We used Benjamin Moore Paints.  The dining room, guest bedroom, front bedroom, master bath, and laundry are a pale blue called Woodlawn Blue (same as porch ceilings).  The living room, kitchen, guest and hall bath, and master bedroom is a dark gray called Puritan Gray.  The hallways both upstairs and down along with the stairwell is a grayish tan called Revere Pewter.  Just in case a little girl lives here one day, we opted to add a fourth color - a green called Castleton Mist in the back bedroom.

  1. You have decorated all the things in the right way. Interior Painting color selection is very important while you are going to decorate your home.
